Specimen Type: EDTA Plasma or Serum

Collection Tube: Lavender top, K2 or K3 EDTA (EDTA Plasma) or Red/tiger top (Serum)

Collection Instructions: 

For plasma samples: Store samples on wet ice and centrifuge within 2 hours of draw. Then transfer to cryogenic tubes and aliquot as necessary before storing tubes in the appropriate freezer.

For Serum Samples: Allow collected blood to clot for 20-60 minutes before centrifuging. Then transfer to cryogenic tubes and aliquot as necessary before freezing and storing tubes at -80C within 2 hours of collection. 

Volume Required: ~500 mcL  

Storage/Transport Temperature: Frozen @ -80C

Stability: 1 year minimum while stored @ -80C from date of draw

Unacceptable Conditions: Severely Hemolyzed or thawed/non-frozen samples 

Normal Human (Plasma and Serum): 16.9 - 55.1 mg/dL

ULOQ/ALQ:  130 mg/dL

LLOQ/BLQ: 10 mg/dL

This test is a laboratory developed test per the US Food and Drug Administratio's guidelines and is used per manufacturer's instructions and per Exsera's SOPs. Performance characteristics were verified by Exsera in a manner consistent with CAP/CLIA requirements.
